72/365 The Little Things

So I have this whole theory about The Little Things. In fact it isn’t too far to go to say that it is my mantra in life. It applies to everything. Let me explain…. Your whole life, who you are, what you look like, how your relationships are, the job you do, how you feel day to day, minute by minute is all about the little choices you make all the time. Let me explain more…I think all of these things, the snapshot of where you are in any of these scenarios is made up of a hundred million little tiny decisions and thoughts and actions you make every second. For example, health and how you look, is made up of a hundred small daily choices… eat that chocolate? Drink that glass of wine? Hmm or drink a litre of water and then go for a run. Job wise, do you do the extra one thing, make one extra call, plaster on a smile in a meeting when you’d rather sever a limb with a blunt spoon…. (or someone elses!)? Happiness wise, when something less than ideal happens, do you focus on what’s gone wrong and the mistakes you’ve made? Or do you draw the positive from even the most difficult situation and then move on feeling wiser? Relationships wise, I’ve come up with this whole definition of love… Are you ready? Love is doing those little things for the person you love, those tiny things, which you don’t HAVE to do, and usually are an effort to do, (sometimes a big effort involving limb severing thoughts) but you DO them because you love that person, you go the extra mile figuratively because their happiness and enjoyment is at least as important to you as your own. Whether that’s doing something you are not that keen on, or just making an effort, when well it is frankly an effort, that’s real love. And the photo? Well it’s a close up of  a PC graphics card fan, in itself not very interesting, it’s just going to make the media PC the BF built for me, run a lot more quietly. But see, when you focus in on the details in even the most mundane, it becomes somewhat beautiful. And so the sermon from the religion of The Little Things, signs off with an “Amen”!
