164/365 Photography challenge!

It's always good to throw yourself into the photographic deep end I think and see how you get on! I went to Ford Fair at Silverstone yesterday, which is a Ford only show, and allows participants to take their car out on the track. It's been years since I tried to shoot motorsport, and even then I did more rally coverage than anything else, and you can manipulate the difficulty level by choosing a corner where you know where the cars will appear and at what speed. I wasn't really expecting to take any photos yesterday, but my BF's good friend was taking his car out on the track and asked if I would take some photo's of him. So I just about remembered to up my film speed and shutter speed, switch to continuous auto focus and shooting, and I was off! Luckily the BF was my photographic assistant and gave me a heads up on when he was coming round. I was shooting so fast that it couldn't read to the card!! so I had to find the car, focus, then keep my finger on the shutter and pan blindly to keep the car in shot! I was SO pleased that they were all in focus and after editing, I have 67 shots I am really pleased with! So this will be something I continue to work on I think, as well as setting myself new photographic challenges as often as I can. I think it's easy to think that "I must read up on this before I start shooting" but sometimes you just need to get on and try and then learn from what does and doesn't work :)
