After we had checked out a few exhibits we went for a skate on the beautiful Christmas ice rink in the museum grounds. It's been about 20 years since I last attempted to skate and I was scared! But I finally managed to let go of the side and have a few laps! It was HILARIOUS, the mix of fear, adrenalin and laughter was quite a mix! I gave up after about 15 minutes, but my husband kept on for the whole hour! It was awesome! We are now looking for other outside rinks, which luckily seem to be the in thing in the UK in winter now, so watch this space for more skating action! We finished off with some gingerbread lattes, hot apple cider and syrup waffles in the cafe overlooking the rink, it was such a magical, romantic, festive day!
28/365 Natural History Museum
We decided to take a trip out to the Natural History Museum, it's been years since i've last been! I must admit I LOVE the building inside and out almost more than the exhibits! It' a gothic fantasy land of columns and gargoyles, and is just fantastical! The famous dinosaur in the main gallery now lights up and roars occasionally! Which is even more awesome than it sounds! And look at that handsome bearded man! My husband!
27/365 Cactus
I just had to share my crazy cactus with you! I saved it from a DIY store a few months back, it was looking a bit unloved and not very happy. At that stage it was just the 3 main oval shapes, very quickly it started to grow at the top two "prongs" one of which has gone WILD! No idea what its planning to do next! But I cant tell you HOW much fun we've had monitoring its progress! :) And the photo effects? Little bit of "1960's" Picasa filtering for that old skool vibe!
26/365 Rooftops
On a trip to Guildford last week this was the view from the top of a very uninspiring multi storey car park! Beautiful old buildings in the crisp autumn sunshine!
