The other passion of mine along with photography that had laid dormant for a while is astrology. I have found the best way to start and keep an interest going is to blog about it, I decided to launch blog number three! It might only ever get two views a day (one of which will be mine) but nevertheless I am proud of my new creation! Check it out if you get a moment, it's called A Celestial Compass :) The photo is one of the series of the moon I shot earlier this year, I love it for all the detail I captures even with just a regular zoom lens and no telescope. But I need to give this one another go I think - shame I missed the super moon recently!
My New Astrology Blog is Live!

And to prove we get sunsets just as good as Hawaii...
At the end of our walk in the Eton Playing Fields we stayed on to watch the sunset and got some really interesting shots of the sky framed by some huge beautiful old trees. Just shows you, you don't need a beach and some palm trees for a good sunset photo! Again I underexposed by a stop or so to really bring the colours of the sky through instead of letting it burn out, and to allow the trees to form intricate silhuoettes like filigree against the sky.
A walk in the park
I am lucky enough to live near to the Eton College Playing Fields which as well as being the rugby pitches for the school during the winter, and the cricket pitches during the summer, are open to the public to use also. I use it as my local running track, but it's also a beautiful place for a romantic walk with your loved one :) This was 8pm last night and we are so pleased to have some sunshine and nice weather after endless endless weeks of grey clouds and rain that we didn't want to stay in and so caught the last few rays of the sun walking around the park, capturing some lens flare and the traditional old cricket scoreboards - it was "splendid" to use a quintessentially English word!!
Sunshine & Shadow
The weather in the UK has been terrible for weeks now, grey clouds and sky and rain everyday, it doesn't make you want to jump outside with your camera and capture the splendour of spring! But this morning at 7am I woke up to sunshine, I had almost forgotten what it looked like :) And I realised that I missed even the simplest of things about spring and summer like waking up to blue skies and the garden lit up by early morning sun, and even the shadows cast by strong sunlight through the trees outside my windows onto the wall in my bedroom. I like the abstract nature of these shots, it could be smoke, or water and is somehow very peacful to look at.
